A home in Wellesley, Ontario, had a couple of sinking spots. One being the garage threshold and another being the doorsill on the side entryway. The concrete driveway started sinking, causing a lip just before entering the garage. The lip made it challenging for the homeowners to drive in and out of the garage. Going in caused thecae to stop, and once more gas was given, the car would then jolt forward out of control into the garage. Leaving would cause the vehicle to increase speed out of the garage, which can be difficult in winter. Moving to the side entrance, the concrete just outside the doorsill had lowered, leaving a larger step coming into the garage and a tripping hazard for the darker hours of the day. Coming out of the garage is just the same, not necessarily a tripping hazard, but a bigger step-down, which can cause imbalance.
Canadian Concrete Leveling was called to fix the solution at a costly rate permanently and not have to replace the whole driveway or side walkway. Our Project Manager Andy Moncrieff came to the home to see what needed to be done. He wanted to use our PolyLevel high-density polyurethane at the lowest points to lift the concrete to its original position. The following day, our Installation Specialist Kyle McKeown proceeded with the PolyLevel®, which only took under fifteen minutes to set up, inject the polyurethane, cure, and clean up, making the homeowners happy with the overall service.
In Wellesley, Ontario, a pair of homeowners had a garage threshold that became a tripping hazard and a nuisance to drive over. The driveway had started to sink, making the garage entry stand out by a few inches. During wet days, water would pool up, and a mini-ice patch would form as temperatures dropped. A solution was essential before the colder months came around. Without replacing the top half of the great conditioned driveway, the homeowners reached out to our team at Canadian Concrete Leveling. Our Project Manager, Tim Rector, made an appearance to show what solution he has in play. The approach was to inject the sinking portions of the driveway with our PolyLevel® system. This system uses a high-density polyurethane that doubles in size once it solidifies, which helps fill all the voids underneath the concrete and promotes lifting. PolyLevel® is an efficient yet minimally invasive solution compared to others. After Tim made the schematics, our installation duo got the go-ahead to begin leveling on a later date that worked best for the homeowners. Our Installation Supervisor, Kyle McKeown, and Installation Specialist, Nestor Cabrera worked meticulously to level the driveway and eliminate the bothersome threshold. These are the results:
Entertaining is what this homeowner in Kitchener, Ontario, loves to do. Unfortunately, entertaining outside became an issue with the uneven concrete patio slabs. The slabs receded by two inches compared to the front, which caused two significant problems. One was that family and friends fell from tripping on the slabs, and the second was that the foundation was exposed on the side of the house, causing water to leak into the home. Canadian Concrete Leveling’s Project Manager Andy Moncrieff arrived and drafted a plan to level out the slabs and solve both problems. On a later day, the installation team, Kyle and Aidan McKeown used PolyLevel® injections to help lift the concrete two inches to match the rest, then sealed the joints permanently with NexusPro®. The homeowner was thrilled that the tripping hazards were left at bay, and the foundation was saved! Job well done.
A walkway located beside a garage in Kitchener, ON, had sinking concrete slabs that were creating several trip hazards. A few of the slabs slanted towards the foundation making it easy for water to flow towards the home’s foundation. Since the homeowners did not want to give water a chance to leak into their basement, they knew they needed a practical solution as soon as possible.
They discovered that Canadian Concrete Leveling provides a quick, clean and permanent solution to sinking concrete so they gave the office a call. Our experienced Project Manager met with the homeowners to inspect the walkway issues. He reassured the homeowners that we could fix the slabs with our PolyLevel® Injection System. Compared to conventional concrete lifting methods, PolyLevel® is long-lasting, and doesn’t add additional weight to the soil. It can be installed in less time than other methods. He also recommended our NexusPro® sealant to repair and seal cracks that he found in a few of the concrete pieces.
Our Installation Supervisor and Installation Specialist levelled one slab at a time making sure to eliminate the trip hazards. Next, the crew sealed the cracks with our highly durable NexusPro® Sealant. NexusPro® is waterproof, chemical-resistant, and stops water from trickling through cracks in the concrete and disturbing the soil underneath.
The homeowners were thrilled with the results and how quickly the installation was completed – just a matter of a few hours. They definitely would recommend our PolyLevel® system and NexusPro® sealant to their neighbours dealing with sinking concrete.
