Rose has lived in her Michigan Center, MI home for a few years. When she moved in, she had Ayers out for a bit of waterproofing work. Now a new issue has arisen with her foundation. After the last big rain, water entered from the north wall. The foundation in that spot has bowed and shifted. After an inspection in Rose's home, our crew determined that she would need GeoLock Wall Anchors as well as 3 inch Helical Piers. 

GeoLock Wall Anchors permanently stops foundational shifting in its tracks. The anchors have three parts. The first part is a plate on the interior foundation wall. A steel cable is drilled through the plate into the soil, directed away from the home. A second plate is anchored to the other side of the cable for maximum stabilization. 

Helical Piers are made of steel helix-shaped blades that are screwed into the soil and the piers that can be extended to the appropriate depth. They're attached to the foundation’s footing so the weight is evenly distributed and the home is permanently stabilized.

Tom and Kim's home was built in 1950 and the foundation at the crawlspace was cracked and separating in several places. They called Ayers for an inspection and our crew determined that the problem was worse than anyone realized. Our crew resolved that SmartJacks would be the perfect solution to Tom and Kim's problem. SmartJacks are steel supports that balance the foundation of the crawlspace, lifting it to its original position. They can be adjusted so the house will never shift out of place. Tom and Kim were grateful to feel safe in their own home again. 

Pete owns a rental property in Manitou Beach, MI, just off Devils Lake. When he noticed the retaining wall separating his rental and personal property starting to bow and crack, he became concerned about damage to his home and the safety of his tenants, especially where they parked.

To stabilize the deteriorating brick wall, our crew removed the wood panel and excavated a trench a safe distance behind it. We then installed Geo-Lock® wall anchors, a durable foundation repair system designed to permanently secure and gradually straighten bowing walls.

With the wall now reinforced, Pete can protect his investment and offer his renters a safe, stable space for years to come.

If you have a crack in your basement wall, call a basement company. Foundation cracks are rarely just cracks and often indicate a larger problem. In this case, a contractor tried to simply fill a wall crack with epoxy, but the leak causing the crack didn't really care and continued to leak and, therefore, crack.

We installed the FlexiSpan crack repair system, which seals the crack and remains flexible enough to accommodate any shifting in the surrounding soil.

Brandon noticed slopping in his floors at home, causing him some concern. He decided to contact Ayers to have a professional opinion. Our resident foreman Evan was able to inspect the area and listen to Brandon's concerns.

Evan noticed the home's crawl space was lacking support so decided to install a set of SmartJack piers.

SmartJack piers are metal beams placed strategically along the structure's supportive rim joist. The bottoms are anchored into the ground with poured concrete while the tops are capped with load-bearing joints that are attached to the rim joist. The entire pier's height is adjusted till there is constant pressure being applied, reintroducing support to the entire framework.
