New Home Experiences Foundational Problems on Clark Lake

Amanda and Andrew have been through quite a journey after purchasing their new lake home in 2023. After experiencing water intrusion in their crawl space, they took the proactive steps of having a sump pump installed to manage the situation effectively. After the installation of the sump pump in December 2023, knowing it would be their forever home, a place they cherish and plan to pass down to their children, they decided to get the foundation inspected as well a year later. Understandably, they want to ensure the foundation remains stable and secure for the future. Having already invested in some new work, it's concerning for them to notice the area starting to settle. The emergence of new cracks along with existing ones reopening can understandably be worrisome. Amanda even mentioned that certain sides of the home have begun making noises reminiscent of previous issues, adding to their anxiety. With plans to add onto their beloved home, they are rightfully seeking assurance that everything regarding the foundation is solid. Thankfully, with the installation of our SmartJacks support posts in the crawl space, Amanda and Andrew's home is now stable and secure. It's heartening to know that we could help them protect their investment and provide peace of mind as they move forward with their plans.

Crawl Space Support System Installed for Homeowner in North Star, MI

Shane's crawl space lacked the proper support it desperately needed. His floor joists were sagging, so he called Ayers for a permanent solution. We got to work installing SmartJacks since this is a supplemental support system designed specifically for crawl space applications. This solution offers revolutionary foundation support and will prevent the joists from sagging again. SmartJacks get installed by attaching steel support beams to the floor joists and rest on a sturdy base within the ground. Once the crew installs these steel posts, they are adjusted to raise Shane's floors to a level position!

Stabilizing a Rental Property Basement Wall in Saint Louis MI

Patrick buy rental properties and recently bought this home in Saint Louis. One of the walls in the basement was starting to bow, had about an inch of movement, and had cracks all over it. He needed a solution that would keep renters and home safe but also last a ling time. We installed the PowerBrace Wall Repair System to stabilize the bowing wall and to potentially straighten it back to the original position. This system installs quickly and is done with minimal disruption.

Raising an Okemos, MI Crawl Space with SmartJacks

When this building was moved to Okemos, MI, the owner thought that it would be a fresh start for his company but the foundation had other plans. The soil that the building was placed on wasn’t strong enough to stop the crawl space from sinking and threatening to bring the whole foundation with it. Luckily, there’s a place in Lansing, MI that knows everything there is to know about crawl spaces and foundation repair.

When the crew arrived they saw that the crawl space was being held in place by several wood planks trying their best. Our SmartJacks are galvanized steel jacks designed to raise sagging structures. Unlike wood, the steel beams won’t decay from the elements or humidity that commonly occur in crawl spaces. The crew had to do more than just lift the crawl space, they also had to reinforce and stabilize the worn floor joists. All in all, it took 6 different smart jacks and 28 supplemental support beams to keep this foundation from giving in.

If your crawl space is sinking, don’t wait to call. The structural integrity of your home depends on it.

Geo-Lock Anchors Save Failing Wall in Okemos, MI

This customer called because he noticed his wall was caving inward and he was afraid it was going to collapse. His home was built with block foundation and was experiencing horizontal cracking, which is a common sign of wall failure in this type of foundation wall. In order to save the wall our crew decided that installing Geo-Lock wall anchors would be the best bet.

The Geo-Lock wall anchor system will stabilize the wall and prevent it from continuing to bow inward. Steel anchors are installed in the soil away from the home and are then connected to steel wall plates located on the foundation wall. These anchors ensure the wall is stabilized, with the capability to tighten the anchors during dry seasons to straighten the wall over time. This customer will no longer have to worry about the possibility of his wall collapsing.
