After foundation settlement occurred at this home in Winnsboro SC, the homeowners began to notice exterior cracks in the bricks and interior cracks along the windows and doors of the home. In many cases, this can affect the use of doors and can cause the windows to stick or not function properly. Cantey's Pier System is used to stabilize the home and lift the structure of the home to a stable position. After the piers are installed, the soil around the area is replaced, the cracks in the bricks are closed, and the operation of the doors and windows are improved.
Often times in older homes, the floors start to sag and become soft or bouncy which later creates foundation cracks in the walls and could even put enough pressure on the walls causing them to cave. In this house in Charleston, SC, Cantey crew members were able to provide enough support to raise the floors back up by adding a supplemental steel beam across the entire crawl space and assembling adjustable SmartJacks along the beam. The jacks were adjusted to raise and position the home in its original place and provide enough foundation support to the stabilize the home.
The difference between a crawl space and the CleanSpace is the peace of mind for homeowners. Don't live above and infested crawlspace, get it clean today!
The Cantey Crew gave these Irmo, SC front steps a face lift.
Dan T. of Cheraw, SC started noticing cracks in the drywall off the corners of the doors in his home. He also found that the doors and windows in his home began to stick when he would try to open them. Dan knew this was a sign of foundation settling, so he called Cantey for a free inspection before the damages became worse. Cantey Production Crew Leader Jonathon Lowder and crew entered his crawlspace and immediately saw that the existing concrete columns were settling and causing the walls to crack and the floors to sink. The crew installed six SmartJacks under the home, which lifted the walls back to the appropriate height and provided a more structural footing to level the floors in Dan’s home. Now, the cracks on his walls are sealed and he can open his doors and windows once again.
