This concerned the family not only about the damage but also about mold and air quality. Their goal was to turn the basement into a safe area for their children to enjoy. With the threat of active water intrusion solved, the homeowners began to wonder about next steps. They contacted HomeSpec once more with the intention of installing basement finishing products for the walls and floors. 

David, the same project manager who helped this family waterproof their basement, came back to the home to discuss options available. Your sump pump should always be pumping water away from your foundation. Especially if you live in an area with a high water table or a high level of water around your foundation, you need a reliable sump pump to keep your basement from flooding. This Melvindale homeowner did not have that - sometimes her sump pump wouldn't work at all. This made her constantly worry, until she finally contacted HomeSpec.

Jenny W. from Birmingham, Michigan contacted HomeSpec after finding water leaking into her basement after a bad storm through the floor/wall joint and cracks in the walls. 

HomeSpec had a solution for her wet basement woes: a waterproofing system. This includes a WaterGuard Drainage System that installs around the perimeter to collect water before it leaks into the basement. This then deposits water into the TripleSafe Sump Pump (with 3 pumps for triple the protection) which funnels water away from the home. 

We also installed our Foamax Basement Wall Panels to hide the unsightly foundation walls, brighten up the space, and drain any water leaks into the drainage system.

There is no sugar coating this – this foundation was in BAD shape. The homeowner bought the house in Grosse Ile, Michigan with intentions to fix it up and repair the obvious issues in the basement. First of all, water would seep through the block walls and leak into the basement. The walls were covered in stains making them look very unsightly. The walls were also severely cracked and bowing inward, which is dangerous for the entire structure. 

The homeowner didn't want to cut corners, she wanted everything repaired properly and permanently. After Project Manager Mark Buhr developed a repair plan, Foreman Jerry Blevins and his crew got to work. 

The foundation walls first needed to be excavated and pushed back as into place. Then a Carbon Fiber System was installed to stabilized the walls and prevent them from moving again. To solve the water issues, a WaterGuard Below Floor Drainage System was installed around the perimeter of the basement to prevent water intrusion. Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier was installed over the walls to prevent moisture and water vapor from entering, but instead directs it down into the drainage system. Lastly, we installed our SilverGlo Insulation to seal the rim joists. 

The homeowner sincerely thanked HomeSpec for making a serious, tiring issue get fixed so smoothly and quickly.
