A homeowner in Westland, MI has been in the same house for 20 years. They moved in shortly after the home was built in 2003. Throughout the years, they have used the basement as a storage area. Unfortunately, cracks had developed and began to leak. During some of the heavy rains in recent years, so much water had leaked into the basement that the homeowner was concerned their stored items would be damaged. With these concerns in mind, they reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair for a free estimate.
One of HomeSpec’s senior project managers, Erik, went out to the home and inspected the homeowner’s concerns. He also looked around at other spots that grabbed his attention as a trained inspector such as the outside of the home. Afterward, Erik made a proposal for the homeowner and together they decided what would best meet the home’s needs. The homeowner decided on a WaterGuard® interior drainage system and CleanSpace® vapor barrier. This combination would capture any water from the walls or floor and lead it to an existing basin. These repairs were installed by teams led by foreman Jon and plumber Rick. The homeowner was happy that their belongings would be safe in the basement moving forward.
A homeowner in Westland, MI found a leak in the corner of their basement. They noticed that they would regularly encounter water entering their home during heavy rains. It became clear that they needed to control the water before the damage was irreparable. The homeowner reached out to HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair and scheduled a free inspection to see what could be done.
Sidney, one of HomeSpec’s inspection managers, visited the residence and spoke with the owner. They reviewed their concerns and Sideny proceeded to investigate the basement. He saw where water was intruding as described but also noted additional areas. Sidney proposed that the homeowner allow HomeSpec to install an interior drainage system using WaterGuard®. The IDS would line each wall and connect to a sump pump and discharge line. With this system in place, any water that was on its way into the home would be captured, escorted to the sump pump, and then discharged away from the house. The homeowner agreed to this plan and it was brought to life. The crew that installed this project was led by a foreman named Michael. Their completed work met the homeowner’s goals and prevented further damage.
A homeowner in Romulus, Michigan contacted HomeSpec after buying a home with apparent water damage in the basement. The walls were water damaged and stained severely because water was seeping in at the base of the wall.
HomeSpec tackled this issue by installing a vapor barrier over the bottom of the wall to hide the unsightly stains and to direct the water leaking in down into a WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage System. This system collects the water and deposits it into the TripleSafe Sump Pump to be funneled away from the foundation. All three of these work together seamlessly to keep the basement dry and looking great!
In Livonia, MI, a homeowner saw that was was leaking in a corner of their unfinished basement. After living in the home for 20 years, they were considering selling in the future. Regardless if they stayed or sold, they knew that this water leak needed to be addressed. After some looking around, the homeowner found HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair. HomeSpec sent their senior project manager, Erik, to do an inspection.
After some careful thought, Erik suggested an interior drainage system using WaterGuard® and connecting it to discharge to the storm cleanout. This system would effectively catch any water from a poured foundation such as this one and dispel it, keeping the basement dry. The homeowner liked this plan and moved forward with the repairs. HomeSpec sent their plumber, Rick, and foreman, Josh, to lead the work. The homeowner was satisfied with the work and service from HomeSpec and left a positive review!

A project manager, Jeremiah, went out to the home and took a look both inside and outside. It was important for him to have a full understanding of the situation so he could provide an accurate repair plan. Jeremiah proposed installing waterproofing products to capture the water and remove it from the home. This would be done using a WaterGuard® interior drainage system that connects to a TripleSafe™ Sump Pump. He also suggested installing the waterproof basement finishing products Everlast Wall Restoration System and ThermalDry® Floor Tiles to maintain the finished aesthetic. The homeowners approved of this plan and chose the sandstone color option for the tiles. Due to the scope of the work multiple crews were required to install everything in a timely manner.
