Keith, one of HomeSpec’s senior project managers, went to the home and conducted a thorough inspection both inside and outside of the home. He took measurements and notes before returning to the homeowner to discuss a repair plan. He recommended solutions for the foundation as well as the porch. Keith explained that the crew would fix the porch with PolyLevel® Injection Foam to raise the sunken concrete until the halves were even again. Then, the team would use NexusPro sealant over the crack to secure and protect it. The homeowner agreed to these ideas and worked with HomeSpec to have the crew move forward with the plan. A foreman named Fred led a crew in the porch repair while other foremen, Jon, Mike, and Rick, led the repairs in the basement.

A foreman who specializes in PolyLevel® Injection Foam, like Fred, would drill holes through the concrete and use the foam to lift and level the sunken areas. Once the concrete was even, then the team would repair the cracks and joints using NexusPro sealant. The homeowners decided this was the best route for their driveway and scheduled HomeSpec out for the project. They were very happy to no longer have tripping hazards and to keep water away from the home’s foundation.

Elon explained that while critters may dig underneath the slabs, they are not the only cause of sinking concrete. The water from the downspout was causing soil to wash away. Elon suggested the repair consist of two parts, leveling the concrete and preventing it from sinking again. The leveling would be accomplished using PolyLevel® Injection Foam and NexusPro sealant would protect the joints. To further prevent soil from being washed away, Elon suggested extending the downspout and installing TrenchDrain™ Grated Draining Pipe. The homeowner agreed to this plan and was happy with the completed results! The team was led by Fred, a PolyLevel Foreman, and saw the project finalized.

Our team solved this issue permanently with our PolyLevel system. Through a dime-sized hole, we injected a polyurethane foam underneath the concrete. As it expanded, the slabs were lifted up back into place. The joints and cracks were then sealed with our strong silicone-based sealant. And the walkway was even once more!
