Take a peek at this Dubuque home’s before and after shots: the walkway’s concrete had gone from a charming invitation to an unintended tripping zone!
To get things back on track, Rob Chismark stepped in to assess the damage and design the perfect solution. Once the plan was set, Justin Maddox and his crew brought out our trusty PolyLevel® to stabilize the slabs. They provided the exact lift needed, leveling those surfaces to perfection.
For the final touch, they applied NexusPro® Joint Sealant to seal those gaps like pros, keeping moisture at bay and strengthening every joint. At MidAmerica Basement Systems, leveling up concrete isn’t just a job—it’s our art form! Plain sailing, almost like walking on air, as it should be!
In Dubuque, IA, a section of the walkway at a local church has become a safety hazard when some areas settled over half an inch. This presented a potential risk for churchgoers every day. Notice in the before photo how the slabs had sank. We corrected with with our PolyLevel system, lifting the concrete back into place efficiently. In the after photo, the surface is stable and safe. Our NexusPro Joint Sealant then provided a long-lasting barrier against water, preventing further issues. With over 35 years of experience, our family-run team ensures every project is carefully managed and completed to the highest standard.
Steve M. of DeWitt, IA contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to get his concrete slabs lifted and leveled. He met with his design specialist, Clayton Spinler, who suggested that he have the slabs leveled with PolyLevel, a long term concrete slab lifting and leveling procedure, and filled with NexusPro Joint Sealant. Despite temperature changes, rain, and soil movement, the slab will be level and protected for years to come.
Steve and JoAnn were having issues with entering their home. The concrete step had sunken, leaving a larger step into their house. The dropped concrete step had caused a 3-inch difference between the doorway and top step. Design specialist, Cole had offered the solution of PolyLevel to lift and stabilize the step, preventing the homeowners from having to replace the entire area. The PolyLevel was injected into the stairs, filled the voids, and lifted them to their original position. The once 3-inch difference has now been fixed, making the entrance to their home smoother.
Sunken concrete has caused for a large gap between the foundation and driveway. They contacted MidAmerica Basement Systems to have the concrete mudjacked. It was offered to have the driveway lifted and stabilized with the injection of PolyLevel, which is a more effective and permanent solution. PolyLevel uses a lightweight polyurethane material that won’t put extra stress on the failed soil or against the home’s foundation. PolyLevel also has a quick cure time, allowing for the area to be access within minutes of injection, where it can days takes, and even weeks for accessibility when mudjacking is completed. After PolyLevel, the driveway is back to its original height and is more stable than before, preventing future voids to the injected area.
