Here is a great example of what many home builders use to "level" the floors after they are installed. If I had a nickel for every time I saw a little scrap piece of wood shoved up under a girder...I'd have a ton of nickels. It's strange that this is generally accepted because when you think about it, the whole weight of the home is resting on some thin little piece of wood. The best way to fix it is to add SmartJacks and shim up the piers with large steel plates.
This person was buying a home as a fixer upper. They did not know who to call about the bowing wall in the basement. She was referred to DryZone by the realtor. Our designer came in, diagnosed the problem, and fixed the home using our PowerBrace system. Now she is a happy homeowner!
This home in Newark, DE was in need of 8 helical piers to support the front of the home and lift it back to its original location.
This home had floor joists that were sinking and causing structural damange. The fix... Smart Jacks installed by DryZone. This will help keep the house strucurally sound for years and years!
