Before
A homeowner in Kaukauna, WI contacted Sure-Dry after noticing their driveway and front walkway had begun to settle unevenly. The concrete slabs had shifted over time, creating height differences, cracks, and gaps that posed safety concerns and impacted curb appeal. With Northeast Wisconsin’s freeze-thaw cycles and soil movement, these conditions are common and often lead to the need for concrete lifting and concrete leveling.
Water was also beginning to collect in the low areas and seep into the joints, increasing the risk of soil washout beneath the slabs. The homeowner was searching for a dependable concrete lifting company and contractor to restore the surfaces and prevent further deterioration.
After
Our team used PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam to lift and level the settled driveway and front walkway. By injecting the expanding foam through small, strategically drilled holes, we were able to raise the slabs back into proper position while stabilizing the underlying soil.
To complete the repair and provide long-term protection, we applied NexusPro Concrete Joint Sealant to all joints and cracks. This flexible sealant helps prevent water intrusion, reducing the likelihood of future washout and maintaining the stability of the repair.
Unlike traditional mudjacking (also known as slab jacking), which uses a heavier material that can contribute to additional settling over time, PolyLevel is lightweight, cures quickly, and provides a long-lasting solution. Combined with NexusPro, this approach delivers both structural correction and long-term protection for concrete floor repair and concrete step repair needs.
The driveway and walkway are now level, sealed, and safe for daily use.
The homeowner now has a stable, protected surface that improves both safety and appearance.
Before: A homeowner in Kaukauna, WI had a concrete driveway and front walkway that were starting to show their age. Several slabs had sunk over the years, leaving the driveway uneven and the walkway to the front door rough to walk across. Some of the joints had opened up enough that grass and weeds were starting to grow through the seams, and water would settle in the low spots after rain. The uneven concrete had also become more noticeable during the winter months when snow and ice would collect in the settled areas.
Like a lot of homes around Outagamie County, the combination of freeze-thaw weather and years of moisture working under the slabs had caused the soil beneath the concrete to slowly shift and settle. The homeowner wanted to get things leveled back out without replacing the entire driveway and walkway.
After: Sure-Dry lifted and stabilized the settled driveway and front walkway using PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam. By injecting the foam beneath the slabs, the crew was able to fill the empty spaces underneath and carefully raise the concrete back closer to level. Compared to traditional mudjacking methods, PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam is lightweight, cures quickly, and helps avoid adding extra weight to already shifting soils beneath the slabs.
Once the concrete was lifted, the crew sealed the joints and cracks using NexusPro Concrete Joint Sealant to help keep water from getting back underneath the slabs. By the time the project was finished, the driveway had smoother transitions, the walkway to the front door was much safer to walk on, and the whole front of the home looked cleaner and more put together.
