Before: A homeowner in Kaukauna, WI had a concrete driveway and front walkway that were starting to show their age. Several slabs had sunk over the years, leaving the driveway uneven and the walkway to the front door rough to walk across. Some of the joints had opened up enough that grass and weeds were starting to grow through the seams, and water would settle in the low spots after rain. The uneven concrete had also become more noticeable during the winter months when snow and ice would collect in the settled areas.
Like a lot of homes around Outagamie County, the combination of freeze-thaw weather and years of moisture working under the slabs had caused the soil beneath the concrete to slowly shift and settle. The homeowner wanted to get things leveled back out without replacing the entire driveway and walkway.
After: Sure-Dry lifted and stabilized the settled driveway and front walkway using PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam. By injecting the foam beneath the slabs, the crew was able to fill the empty spaces underneath and carefully raise the concrete back closer to level. Compared to traditional mudjacking methods, PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam is lightweight, cures quickly, and helps avoid adding extra weight to already shifting soils beneath the slabs.
Once the concrete was lifted, the crew sealed the joints and cracks using NexusPro Concrete Joint Sealant to help keep water from getting back underneath the slabs. By the time the project was finished, the driveway had smoother transitions, the walkway to the front door was much safer to walk on, and the whole front of the home looked cleaner and more put together.

Before
An older ranch home in Kaukauna, WI had several exterior concrete sections that had settled over time, creating uneven surfaces around the driveway, front walkway, and concrete steps leading into the home. The homeowner noticed trip hazards developing near the walkway to the front door, along with visible separation between slabs caused by seasonal freeze-thaw cycles and long-term soil movement common throughout Northeast Wisconsin. Concerns about safety, water drainage, and curb appeal led them to contact a trusted concrete lifting contractor for a long-term solution instead of full concrete replacement.
The aging slabs showed classic signs of settlement often associated with sinking concrete near older homes in town, where soil washout and compaction can occur beneath exterior flatwork. Uneven concrete can worsen during heavy rain and snowmelt seasons, especially around driveways and entry points where water naturally collects. The homeowner wanted a concrete leveling solution that would stabilize the slabs while improving the appearance and safety of the property without the mess and downtime associated with traditional mudjacking or slab jacking methods.
After
Sure-Dry installed the PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam beneath the settled driveway, walkway, and concrete steps to carefully lift and level the affected slabs. Once the concrete surfaces were restored to proper position, the crew applied NexusPro Concrete Joint Sealant to seal joints and gaps, helping protect the concrete from future water intrusion and soil erosion. This concrete leveling approach provided a fast-curing, minimally invasive repair designed to restore both safety and appearance around the home.
Unlike traditional mudjacking, which uses heavier cement-based materials that can add stress to unstable soils, PolyLevel uses lightweight expanding foam that fills voids beneath the slab while delivering long-lasting support. The repaired driveway and entry walkway now provide a smoother, safer walking surface while helping reduce future settlement concerns around the older ranch home.
