Concrete Walkway and Front Step Lifted and Leveled in Oshkosh, WI

Before: A homeowner in Oshkosh, WI had a concrete walkway leading to the front door that had settled enough over the years that the first step up into the house had become much higher than it should have been. The walkway slabs had dropped and shifted, creating an uneven approach to the entrance and making the front step awkward — and unsafe — to use. Like a lot of homes around Winnebago County, years of moisture changes and Wisconsin freeze-thaw weather had slowly caused the soil beneath the walkway to settle.
The homeowner was concerned not only about the appearance of the walkway, but also about the safety issue the uneven step height had created. The difference in elevation had gotten beyond what current code would typically allow, making it much easier for someone to trip coming in or out of the home.

After: Sure-Dry lifted and stabilized the settled walkway using PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam to bring the slabs back up closer to their proper height and alignment. By injecting the foam beneath the concrete through small ports, the crew was able to carefully raise the walkway and reduce the excessive step height at the front entrance without needing to tear out and replace the concrete. Compared to traditional mudjacking methods, PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam is lightweight, cures quickly, and works well for precise lifting adjustments like this.
Once the walkway was lifted and leveled, the joints and cracks were sealed using NexusPro Concrete Joint Sealant to help keep water from working back underneath the slabs. By the time the project was finished, the front entrance had a much smoother, safer transition and the walkway looked far more even and cleaned up overall.

Before & After: Concrete Driveway & Sidewalk Repair in Oshkosh, WI

Before:
This homeowner in Oshkosh, WI was dealing with a driveway and sidewalk that had developed multiple large cracks and uneven sections over time. The settled concrete created trip hazards, poor drainage, and open joints where water was getting underneath the slabs and washing out the supporting soil.

Like many concrete surfaces in Wisconsin, years of freeze/thaw cycles and moisture movement had caused the slabs to sink and separate.

After:
Instead of tearing everything out and replacing the concrete, we repaired and restored it using:

  • PolyLevel® Injection Foam to lift and level the sunken slabs by filling voids beneath the concrete and stabilizing the soil
  • NexusPro® Joint & Crack Sealant to seal cracks and joints and help prevent future water intrusion and washout

This approach provided the homeowner with a faster, cleaner, and more cost-effective solution compared to full concrete replacement.

Now the concrete is:
✔️ Level
✔️ Safer to walk on and drive on
✔️ Better protected against future settlement and water damage

The homeowner was able to restore the appearance and function of the driveway and sidewalk without the mess, downtime, and expense of pouring brand-new concrete.

Concrete Driveway Sinking and Cracking Repaired in Oshkosh, WI

Before: A homeowner in Oshkosh, WI contacted Sure-Dry after noticing sections of their concrete driveway and walkway leading to the front door had become uneven and settled over time. The sinking slabs created tripping hazards near the entrance and caused water to collect in low areas during heavy rain and snowmelt. Like many homes throughout Winnebago County and the Fox Valley region, repeated freeze-thaw cycles and changing soil conditions beneath the slabs had caused the concrete to crack and shift. The homeowner was searching for a concrete lifting company and concrete leveling contractor that could restore the existing concrete without the expense and disruption of replacement.
Traditional mudjacking, also referred to as slab jacking, can place additional weight on unstable soils and often requires larger drill holes throughout the slab surface. The homeowner wanted a long-lasting concrete floor repair and concrete step repair solution that would improve safety, drainage, and curb appeal around the property.

After: Sure-Dry inspected the driveway and front walkway and identified several settlement areas beneath the affected concrete slabs. To restore the surfaces, the crew installed PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam beneath the settled sections to carefully lift and level the concrete back into position. Unlike traditional mudjacking methods, PolyLevel High-Density Concrete Lifting Foam is lightweight, cures quickly, and helps reduce additional stress on weakened soils beneath the slab. Once the lifting process was completed, the joints and cracks were sealed using NexusPro Concrete Joint Sealant to help prevent future water intrusion and soil washout beneath the driveway and walkway.
The completed repair restored a safer and more uniform concrete surface while helping protect the slabs against continued settlement common throughout Oshkosh and Central Wisconsin.
