This crawl space was suffering from water issues, causing moisture and foul odors in the floors above. To remedy these issues, we cleaned up the extra dirt and debris and then installed a combination of CleanSpace Vapor Barrier and Drainage Matting to collect any water and safely and effectively carry it back outside. These updates will not only keep the crawl space cleaner and drier but will also make the floors above it much more comfortable.

In Egg Harbor, WI, the owners of a newly built home faced unexpected water issues in their basement. As you can see in the before photo, water intrusion threatened their investment. The homeowner was battling a very wet basement—water entered along multiple wall–floor joints after rain and during thaws. Puddles, musty odors, and efflorescence made the space unusable and raised concerns about long-term damage.

After:
We installed a full interior system: WaterGuard® around the leaking perimeter to capture seepage at its source, feeding a new TripleSafe® sump system (primary pump for everyday flow, a high-capacity secondary for peak events, and a battery-backup pump for outages). To finish, we lined the walls with CleanSpace® vapor barrier so any wall moisture is directed into WaterGuard instead of onto the floor.

The basement is now dry, clean, and ready for storage and projects—even during heavy rains.

Before:

After:
We encapsulated the crawl space with the CleanSpace® vapor barrier, sealing the floor and walls with tight, taped seams and mechanical fasteners. To manage groundwater, we installed a SmartSump® system in a sealed liner with alarm and check valve for dependable pumping and early leak detection. We finished with SilverGlo® rigid insulation panels on the crawl space walls to improve energy efficiency and direct any wall moisture into the liner.

The result is a bright, dry, insulated crawl space that helps keep the living areas above cleaner and more comfortable.
