Crawl Space Sealed & Waterproofed in Minocqua, WI

Check out the before and after of this crawl space in Minocqua, WI that was suffering from severe moisture issues, which was leading to rotting wood and mold growth, and was causing the home above to suffer from high humidity, foul/musty odors, and structural issues. To fix these issues, we fully encapsulated (sealed) the crawl space with our crawl space Vapor Barrier system. The homeowners were thrilled with the results and excited to enjoy a drier, more comfortable, and better-smelling home.

Your home is a system, and every part of that system plays a role that affects the rest of the structure. If your crawl space begins to rot, grow mold, or experience structural problems, this will extend to every part of your home.

Basement Sump Pump & Water Control System Installation in Minocqua, WI

Before:
A Minocqua homeowner was dealing with recurring basement water after storms. Seepage appeared where the walls meet the floor, leaving puddles, musty odors, and concerns about long-term damage.

After:
We installed the WaterGuard® interior drainage system along the basement perimeter to intercept seepage at the wall-floor joint and direct it to a new SuperSump® system. The SuperSump provides reliable pumping capacity with an airtight lid, high-quality pump, and clean finish.

The basement is now dry, usable, and protected during heavy rain events.

Crawl Space Moisture Solutions in Minocqua, WI

Before:
The homeowner had a damp, musty crawl space with exposed soil and seasonal puddling near the access. Humid outside air and pests were entering through an unsealed hatch, leading to condensation on ducts, cold floors above, and persistent odors throughout the home.

After:
We encapsulated the crawl space with the CleanSpace® vapor barrier, mechanically fastened up walls and sealed across the floor with tight, taped seams. A SuperSump® was installed to collect and discharge any groundwater or condensation. To control humidity year-round, we added a Sedona dehumidifier set to maintain healthy RH levels and piped its condensate to the sump. Finally, we installed a Turtle™ crawl space entrance cover to create a weather-tight, pest-resistant access point.

The crawl space is now clean, dry, and isolated from outdoor air—improving comfort and air quality in the living space above.

Waterproofing System Installed in Minocqua

Before the project, the homeowner in Minocqua, WI was dealing with recurring water seepage along the cove joint where the basement floor meets the foundation walls, especially during heavy rains and spring snowmelt. Water tracked along the perimeter slab, left damp bands and efflorescence on the concrete, and occasionally pooled in low spots, making the basement unreliable for storage and future finishing. An older sump pump sat in a basic pit without a continuous interior drainage system, so hydrostatic pressure beneath the slab simply forced groundwater to the wall–floor joint—typical of wet basement repair needs in Wisconsin’s Northwoods.

After Sure-Dry completed the work, the basement was protected by a WaterGuard® interior drainage system installed along the affected walls at the footing to intercept groundwater before it can reach the floor surface. The drainage channel was set in a stone bed with a wall flange to capture wall and cove seepage and was routed directly into a new SuperSump® sump pump system, providing a sealed liner, airtight lid, and high-capacity pump tied into a properly routed discharge line. The WaterGuard interior French drain was then covered with new concrete to restore a clean, finished floor edge and deliver a long-term interior drainage system basement solution for this Minocqua home.
The homeowner now has a dry, healthier basement environment and confidence that this basement waterproofing system will protect their Northwoods property through future storms and snowmelt cycles.

Crawl Space Moisture & Odor Issues Resolved with Vapor Barrier System in Minocqua, WI

Before
A homeowner in Minocqua, WI, was dealing with a damp, exposed crawl space where moisture from the ground could contribute to musty odors, elevated humidity, and poor conditions beneath the home. Crawl spaces throughout the Northwoods are especially vulnerable to seasonal moisture, changing groundwater conditions, and Wisconsin’s freeze-thaw cycles. The homeowner needed a crawl space repair solution that would isolate the home from the damp earth below.
After
Sure-Dry installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System to fully encapsulate the crawl space. The durable liner was installed across the floor and extended up the foundation walls, creating a continuous barrier between the home and moisture from the exposed ground.
By controlling ground moisture instead of allowing it to enter the crawl space, the encapsulation helps create a cleaner, drier environment beneath the home while reducing conditions that can contribute to musty odors and excess humidity.
