A homeowner in Plymouth, WI had noticed that their concrete driveway and the walkway along the front of the home had gradually settled over time. The movement wasn't severe, but some of the slabs were no longer sitting at their original elevation, creating uneven areas and signs that support beneath the concrete had changed.

Even relatively minor settlement can continue if the underlying cause isn't addressed. Wisconsin's rain, melting snow and repeated freeze-thaw cycles can contribute to soil movement and erosion beneath concrete. As small voids develop below the slabs, the concrete can slowly sink into the unsupported areas.

Rather than waiting for the settlement to become more noticeable or lead to larger problems, the homeowner chose to stabilize and improve the existing concrete.

After

Sure-Dry used PolyLevel® throughout both the driveway and front walkway. Small injection holes were drilled through the concrete, allowing lightweight polyurethane foam to expand beneath the affected slabs.

As PolyLevel expanded, it filled underlying voids, restored support and provided controlled lifting where needed to improve the elevation of the concrete.

Compared with traditional mudjacking, PolyLevel requires smaller injection holes, adds significantly less weight beneath the slabs and cures quickly with minimal disruption.

On the driveway, NexusPro® was applied to the appropriate joints and cracks after the concrete was stabilized. The flexible sealant helps limit water from entering beneath the driveway, where it could contribute to additional soil erosion and future settlement.

With PolyLevel supporting the driveway and walkway and NexusPro protecting vulnerable areas of the driveway, this Plymouth homeowner now has more even, stabilized concrete that's better prepared for Wisconsin's changing weather conditions.

Instead of tearing out and replacing the sidewalk, our team repaired it using PolyLevel® concrete lifting foam and NexusPro® joint sealant.

We carefully lifted the sunken sidewalk back into position using PolyLevel, a lightweight expanding foam that fills voids beneath the slab and stabilizes the soil underneath. Once everything was level again, we sealed the joints and cracks with NexusPro to help prevent future water intrusion and settlement.

Now the sidewalk is:
