During a light rainstorm passing through Staunton, Virginia, Ms. Baker went downstairs to her finished, carpeted basement and ended up with wet socks. Her basement had flooded.
She Googled “wet basement repair” in her area and called us at Fortress Foundation Solutions. System Designer Joe went out to inspect the source of the water and found groundwater seepage pushing its way through the floor/wall joints. He put together a repair plan, and not too long after, we sent Gustavo and his crew out to take care of the job.
They started by removing the ruined paneling along the walls. Then, they jackhammered the floor around the perimeter and installed our WaterGuard system. After that, they laid clean crushed stone around the WaterGuard and resealed the floor with concrete.
They also covered the walls with our CleanSpace Wall System to prevent any moisture from seeping through the porous concrete walls. They finished off the job by tying everything into a TripleSafe sump pump system and left Ms. Baker’s basement clean, dry, and healthier than when they first arrived!
This client called Fortress Foundation Solutions about water collecting in herbasement. Our System Designer, Skylar, went out to the home and found water seeping into the basement through the walls. Skylar completed a full inspection and presented the homeowner with a proposal and a quote. She was happy with both and decided to move forward with the work. When our Foreman, Alex, and his crew went out to fix the issue, they used our WaterGuard drainage solution on the floor below to ensure that any water that was collected drained to the TripleSafe Sump Pump, which was then transferred to the discharge line outside of the home.
This customer is very satisfied with the work and happy that water intrusion will no longer be an issue in her home!
In Wardensville, WV, a homeowner faced water intrusion in their basement, particularly through the underground portion of a finished wall. This problem stems from the house being built on a slope. To address this, we installed our WaterGuard system, a subfloor perimeter drainage solution, along with the TripleSafe sump pump. This combination works to effectively redirect water away from the home, ensuring a clean, dry basement space. As demonstrated in the after photo, the home is now stable and healthy, providing lasting protection against foundation seepage.
In Winchester, Virginia, homeowner Liz was preparing to put her home on the market when she discovered moldy belongings and staining on several basement block walls while moving items around.
Concerned about what this could mean for the sale of her home, she contacted her realtor for advice. The realtor immediately reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions and scheduled a free inspection to determine what repairs would be needed to help maximize the home's value and marketability.
System Designer Adam conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the basement and determined that water intrusion was affecting three of the foundation walls. He developed a customized solution to address the issue, and our production team quickly got to work installing a partial waterproofing system tied into a sump pump system.
With the water intrusion problem professionally addressed, Liz can now list her home with confidence, knowing her basement is dry and ready for potential buyers.
Jimi H. of Berkeley Springs, WV noticed water damage in his unfinished basement after a weekend of heavy rain. He recognized it was time to contact Fortress Foundation Solutions and schedule his complimentary estimate.
System Designer Kurtis Toppert identified that the pressure from the heavy rains had led to a buildup of water near the foundation, causing a hairline crack that allowed water to seep in—a phenomenon known as hydrostatic pressure.
Kurtis swiftly addressed the crack by utilizing flexible carbon fiber fabric straps called CarbonArmor which are up to 10 times stronger in tension than steel. Using high-strength epoxy resin, the carbon fiber straps were bonded to the interior face of the wall. They dried quickly and will not affect future basement finishing plans.
Immar and Edgar served as the foremen on this project. After applying the CarbonArmor, they covered the wall with in BrightWall and installed our WaterGuard system around the entire perimeter to ensure a consistently dry basement. Furthermore, they tied our WaterGuard system into our Triple Safe Sump Pump system, providing these homeowners with complete and total peace of mind.
