Driveway Void Repair and Concrete Leveling in Memphis, TN Restored Safe Vehicle Access

Soil Erosion Beneath Driveway Caused Concrete Settlement and Severe Slab Damage

A homeowner in Memphis, TN contacted our team after noticing their driveway was beginning to hollow out underneath the concrete slab. Over time, soil erosion had created large voids beneath the driveway, causing one section of concrete to crack, rotate, and drop significantly. In one area, part of the slab had settled so severely that the concrete had fallen nearly to the dirt below. The homeowners were primarily concerned with properly filling the voids, stabilizing the surrounding slabs, and preventing additional concrete failure that could eventually create unsafe driving conditions or require full driveway replacement.

PolyLevel Injection and Slab Jacking Stabilized the Sunken Driveway

To restore the damaged driveway, our crew used a combination of PolyLevel foam injection and slab jacking techniques to carefully lift and stabilize the affected concrete. Because the slab had rotated and settled unevenly, the repair required multiple adjustments throughout the lifting process. Our team strategically injected PolyLevel beneath the slab while simultaneously using slab jacking equipment to improve elevation and rotation control. In several areas, we also had to saw cut and chisel portions of the concrete to allow continued movement without creating additional stress fractures. While the slab could not be brought perfectly level without risking nearby sections lifting too high, the driveway was successfully stabilized and restored to a condition that safely supports normal vehicle traffic. Additional PolyLevel injections were also completed beneath adjacent slabs to fill large underlying voids and help prevent future settlement.

Why Concrete Void Filling and Driveway Stabilization Matter Long-Term

Concrete settlement is often a symptom of hidden soil erosion beneath the slab, which means simply patching visible cracks rarely solves the underlying problem. In this Memphis driveway repair project, stabilizing both the damaged slab and the surrounding concrete was critical to protecting the long-term performance of the repair and supporting the warranty coverage. After lifting operations were completed, our team sealed the repaired cracks and slab joints using NexusPro joint sealant to help reduce future water intrusion beneath the driveway. Throughout the process, the homeowners were kept informed about the limitations of lifting severely settled concrete and understood that stabilization and drivability were the primary goals. By addressing the voids beneath the driveway instead of replacing the slab entirely, the homeowners gained a cost-effective solution that improved safety, reduced further erosion risk, and extended the life of the existing concrete.

Pool Deck Transformation in Memphis, TN: From Sinking Slab to Solid & Sealed

Before reaching out for help, John H. of Memphis, TN had been keeping a close eye on a troubling section of concrete along the north side of his pool. This 2-foot-wide strip—previously re-poured after fiberglass pool repairs about 10 years earlier—had started to sink again, now settling roughly ½ inch. As the gap grew more noticeable, so did John’s concern. He didn’t want history to repeat itself and knew the longer he waited, the worse it could get.

After our inspection, John reviewed three options and chose the most comprehensive: a full 3-Part Concrete Protection System (CPS) for his entire pool deck. Our team used PolyLevel® to precisely lift the sunken slab back into place, NexusPro® to seal every crack and joint, and SealantPro® to lock in long-term protection. The transformation was immediately visible—what had been a dipping, uneven edge now looked smooth, safe, and structurally sound.

Post-repair, John’s pool area is no longer a source of worry but a space he can enjoy confidently. The once-settling slab is now level and protected against future water intrusion and weather damage. It’s a night-and-day difference that restored not just the concrete, but also John’s peace of mind.
