This crawlspace had exposed soil, moisture issues, and aging ductwork contributing to poor conditions beneath the home. The Cantey Foundation Specialists team cleaned and prepared the space before installing a full crawlspace encapsulation system with a durable vapor barrier to help manage moisture and improve long-term protection.
Pamela had noticed that the floors around her Rock Hill home had started to dip around the walls and that some areas were sagging and soft. Upon inspection, we found the wood foundation of her home had been exposed to high levels of moisture, which was most likely the cause of the mold and wood rot. Because Pamela's home was structurally dependent upon the wood, it was imperative that the rotted wood be replaced. We installed a new main beam as well as the sister joists. Crew members also installed an entire CleanSpace Encapsulation with a Dehumidifier and Drainage System to ensure her crawl space stays dry and free of mold.
Water and mold collecting in your crawl space will only continue to get worse and cause damage to both your health and your home. After the rain water enters under your home, the relative humidity in the air creates the perfect environment for mold growth and critters. The wood beams under your home become infested with termites, causing damage and compromising the structural integrity of which it stands. Cantey can fix it! In this home in Bishopville, SC, Cantey crew members installed a CleanSpace Solution, which includes a moisture barrier and dehumidifying system that keeps the water out of the air so that you can breathe cleaner, healthy air.
This crawlspace had exposed dirt, loose debris, and unprotected structural and mechanical components, creating ongoing moisture concerns beneath the home. Our team cleaned and prepped the area before installing a full crawlspace encapsulation system, sealing the ground and support piers to help control moisture and improve overall conditions below the home.
Carmela G. and her family love their home in Westminster, SC. It is where her kids have grown up and she cannot imagine living anywhere else. Over the last year, her allergies have gotten increasingly worse. It seemed like every morning when she woke up, she just felt sick. When one of her sons went to get something from the crawl space storage, he noticed mold growing and moisture underneath the house. He thought maybe it could be the cause of his mothers' allergies since she is allergic to mold. Carmela knew she needed to do something to get some relief so she searched online for a company that could help. She found Cantey Foundation Specialists and called in to explain what was going on. A representative scheduled her for a free inspection with System Design Specialist Fred Sturm. Fred arrived an did a full inspection of Carmela's crawl space. He found that the moisture was causing damage and was creating harmful air for Carmela. Fred suggested Cantey's CleanSpace system for her home. The CleanSpace system would begin with the floor, walls, and piers being wrapped or covered in a thick material. This material would separate the home and crawl space from the ground and moisture. The material is then secured with spray foam adhesive to create a complete barrier. This barrier would keep the crawl space dry and prevent further damage from moisture. Carmela knew that this system would protect her home and help her breathe easier. Production Crew Leader Estevan Lopez, Production Crew Member Jonathan Whitaker, and Production Crew Member Phillip Sullivan came out and effectively installed the CleanSpace system. Carmela no longer has the allergy issues she had before and recommends Cantey to anyone else that is suffering from bad allergies because of their home.
