This West Jefferson, NC home was facing chronic moisture intrusion and signs of water damage along the basement perimeter. The discolored walls and surface cracks indicated long-term exposure to excess moisture a problem that could lead to mold, mildew, and foundation concerns.
To address this, our team installed a perimeter drainage system designed to intercept and redirect water away from the home’s foundation. A sump pump system was added to actively remove water from the space, keeping the basement dry and protected year-round.
The final result is a cleaner, safer basement with long-term moisture protection built in restoring confidence in the foundation and preserving the integrity of the home.
In this West Jefferson home, the original black steel posts had begun to fail over time showing signs of rust, poor footing, and uneven support that allowed the floor system above to sag. These aging supports were no longer providing the stability the structure needed, leaving the homeowner concerned about long-term safety and foundation integrity.
Our team replaced the old supports with a series of SmartJack adjustable steel support posts, installed on engineered footings to ensure solid, lasting stability. Unlike the previous posts, SmartJacks are made of galvanized steel to resist corrosion and can be precisely adjusted to restore the floor to its proper level.
This upgrade not only strengthens the entire home but also offers a permanent, warrantied solution that can be fine-tuned if the structure ever settles again giving the homeowner peace of mind and a safer, more secure basement.
Water was seeping into this basement through its side wall. The water intrusion was starting to mold the exposed wood and was holding the water inside of the blocks. Installing a vapor barrier and fully waterproofing the wall allowed the moisture to escape the block wall and be pumped outside of the home.
Leaking moisture along the block wall of this basement started to rot the wood shelves and create an environment for mold growth. We installed our waterproofing system to collect intruding water and send it away from the home before it effects the air.
Moisture was getting through this block wall and into the basement. This caused issues such as high humidity and slow mold growth. We installed our patented waterproofing system utilizing our WaterGuard interior drainage system to collect water before it gets into the home and send it to a sump pump.
