This home is celebrating its 100-year anniversary later this month, and to honor that, the homeowner wanted to get some of her worries about the home checked out. She and her daughter had noticed some settlement issues and were concerned it was damaging the inside drywall. The brick home sits on a shallow footing and has settled over time due to the cycle of wet and dry seasons that expand and contract the soil. To make sure this home is standing for many years to come, we installed 12 helical piers on the front porch and side bump out. 

Carol is a long-time homeowner in Spalding, NE, and concern about the foundation walls falling in. She wanted to keep her family home in good shape and decided to call Thrasher Foundation Repair. We sent System Design Specialist Brandon Headrick out to Carol’s home. During the inspection, he was able to see that the walls needed support. The crew installed PowerBraces and was able to provide the walls with the necessary support. Carol was impressed with how smooth and easy the installation went. 

From time to time, Ivan would get water in his basement. Then he noticed his floors were starting to sag. Worried about mold and the integrity of his home, he wanted to fix this problem, especially since he has plans to give this home to his daughter. He knew a band-aid fix wouldn't work and wanted a permanent solution. So he called Thrasher. One of our System Design Specialists, Austin Ahlf, went out to Ivan's home to figure out the root of the problem.

Upon inspection, we found that water was entering through the coal joints in the wall. On top of that, his crawl space was sagging as well. We used WaterGuard with a lateral to the sump pump to fix his water issue. We then used CleanSpace, a 100% waterproof plastic vapor barrier, to divert any water intrusion and channel it away from the home. And then, for his crawl space, we installed SmartJacks to lift and level his support beams back into place.

This homeowner was getting moisture in her basement, so she wanted us to come out and look at her foundation. Her home doesn't have gutters, she didn't think she needed them because of the large overhang she has on her home. Turn out she did need them, moisture was still making its way down the side of the home, causing two sides to settle. To stabilize the home's foundation, we installed nine interior piers.
