A homeowner in Detroit had been putting off encapsulating their crawl space for some time and when the floors finally started to become unbearable, they reached out to us to have their issue solved. With the CleanSpace encapsulation system, the crawl space remains dry and protected, preventing moisture and debris from building up.
Located in Sterling Heights, MI, a homeowner’s crawl space was not properly finished. Because of this, they were experiencing pests in the crawl space. The homeowner reached out to HomeSpec for help encapsulating their basement, hoping it would fix the pest problem as well as keep the moisture out. Knowing they could help, HomeSpec sent a project manager to inspect the home.
Once the inspection was complete, HomeSpec presented a repair plan to the homeowner. This plan started with the SilverGlo™ Crawl Space Insulation System. This insulation system would add a radiant heat barrier while fighting off moisture at the same time. Next would be the installation of a CleanSpace® Crawl Space Encapsulation System. This system would add the layer of protection the homeowner desired, keeping out pests as well as maintaining a dry crawl space. To finish, HomeSpec would add a Sanidry dehumidifier. This would prevent the growth of moisture and mold, creating a healthier living space. Once the homeowner accepted the plan, a team led by Kevin and Jon got to work on the repairs. When the project was done, the homeowner was glad to have a pest-free home and a healthier living area.
Our team encapsulated a crawl space that had water inside it.
A homeowner contacted us because the floors of her home were sagging.
Our team installed a jack in the crawl space to fix that issue. The crawl space was also encapsulated.
A home in Macomb, MI was on the market so the current homeowner could move closer to family. Unfortunately, one accepted offer was rescinded after a home inspector found moisture and mold in the crawl space. The homeowner did not want to risk this happening again and decided to have the crawl space repaired. They called HomeSpec Waterproofing and Foundation Repair for a free inspection and estimate.
Zach, a senior project manager for HomeSpec, did his own inspection so the crew would be properly prepared if the homeowner decided to move forward with the company. He saw the mold and moisture issues previously pointed out and investigated the scope of the damage. Zach then created a repair plan and brought it to the homeowner for consideration. He recommended using Mold-X2 to prevent mold growth before installing products to prevent moisture. These products would be the SmartPipe™ perimeter drainage pipe and CleanSpace® encapsulation. The homeowner agreed to this course of action. The HomeSpec crew that installed this project was led by foreman Jon. The homeowner was very happy with the final results!
