A home in Canton, MI's crawlspace, part of an addition built in 1992, had inadequate insulation, contributing to moisture and temperature control issues. The dirt floor and poorly installed plastic sheeting allowed moisture to enter, impacting the overall air quality and potentially causing long-term damage. To resolve the issues, they encapsulated the crawlspace using a CleanSpace vapor barrier system, which covers the floor and walls to prevent moisture from entering. The joists and ducts were insulated correctly, and SmartJacks were installed for additional foundation support. The space also had a sump pump to manage water and a dehumidifier to control humidity levels. This setup significantly improved the insulation and moisture control in the crawlspace.
Mike lacked any form of protection for his dirt crawl space. He decided he needed professional help so he gave Ayers a call. We conducted a free inspection at his home and concluded CleanSpace would provide the protection he needed. CleanSpace is a heavy-duty plastic liner made with a vapor barrier that protects the area from excess moisture. When there is a surplus of moisture present in the crawl space, this invites bacteria and mold. This waterproof liner is a much more effective and long-lasting solution than a typical tarp from the store. Mike won't have to stress about mold and water crashing his crawl space!
Justin and his family in Novi, MI—just around the corner from Novi High School—were dealing with a major trip hazard in the center of their driveway. With a new basketball hoop going in, the uneven concrete wasn’t just unsightly—it was unsafe. On top of that, a sinking front step raised even more concerns. Our crew lifted and leveled the concrete and sealed the cracks, giving Justin peace of mind and a safe, smooth space for driveway games and daily use.
Nichole grew tired of cleaning up water in her basement and started looking for a permanent solution. She contacted us at Ayers Basement Systems, resulting in a home inspection. Our crew determined the leaks were coming from cracks in the foundation, and an internal drain should be implemented. Nichole opted for the WaterGuard system, which sits below the basement floor and above the home footing, meaning it is out of the mud zone and won't get clogged. After installing the drain, any water that may leak through the foundation will be caught by the drain and funneled out of the home!
Dennis was worried about water moisture running down the walls and floors of his basement. He wasn't sure how to remedy the issue, so he called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. We sent a crew of experts to his home to evaluate the problem and recommend a solution. They decided the best solution for Dennis was the DryTrak system. DryTrak is designed to collect leakage from walls and the floor wall joint. The water then drains directly into the drainage system beneath the floor. Dennis is happy his home is now protected from floor leaks and wall seepage!
