Cracks on the Walls of a Reed City Basement

Marcia noticed cracks in her basement walls and water on her floors as a result. Wanting a fast solution, she contacted Ayers to have her home inspected. Our resident foreman Bruce was able to inspect the home and discovered the home's Supportworks had suffered water damage.

Bruce Drafted a treatment plan that Marcia agreed upon and got to work. He 1ist installed a new sump pump to replace the old one; the Ayers trusted TripleSafe model has 3 levels of safety. He then placed a WaterGaurd drainage system under the basement floor and lined the walls with a PowerBrace set to reinforce the compromised foundation. All the while, Bruce treated the home with a powerful dehumidifier to ensure no moisture remained.

Preparing for the Spring with Egress Windows

Springtime is quickly approaching and with the well anticipated season comes dust, pollen and allergies. However for those dreading the spring, you no longer have to. At Ayers Basement Systems our goal is to help make your home a comfortable environment for years to come.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency there are three key ways to improve indoor air quality:

        1. Ventilate your indoor areas

        2. Utilize air filtration systems

        3. Cease contact with airborne allergens

The client's old windows provided minimal insulation and allowed outside to enter their home. Our heavy duty egress windows prevent pollen from entering your home keeping it pollen-free. To ensure constant clean air, consider our waterproofing services as well.

Waterproofing a Clarksville Basement

This homeowner had standing water in their basement so they called us for a solution. We installed the WaterGuard system which is a French drain that is designed to be installed below the floor slab to be kept out of the "mud zone", where drains can clog. The system collects water that seeps into the basement and drains it to your sump pump.

We also installed the IceGuard to the discharge line. If a discharge line gets backed up, your sump pump won't work properly in the event of water in your basement, which will make the flooding much worse. The IceGuard is a secondary escape route for the water through slotted openings if the line gets backed up.

Cleaning a Crawl Space to Keep Out Pests and Moisture

This Grawn couple do not have any issues in their crawl space but want to go ahead and take care of it in case something happens. It is also gross down there with dirt and a clear tarp on the ground so they want it to be in better shape. We used Drainage Matting to direct the flow of water to the sump pump and keep the water from being directly under the liner. We used the CleanSpace liner to keep out humidity, pests, and water vapor to keep the crawl space dry. Lastly, the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to help keep the space dry and filter the air for mold or other small particles.

CleanSpace Takes Care of Mold in Canadian Lakes, MI

Before Mike could sell his new home, he knew he would have to do something about his old crawl space. He knew that it might need to be encapsulated because of the moisture issues it was facing.  Our system design specialist came to a similar conclusion after discovering mold.

The crew took a trip to Canadian Lakes, MI and brought the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System with them. Seen on the walls of the after photo, CleanSpace is impenetrable by moisture or water vapor, and its’ inorganic material won’t permit mold to grow again. It should be noted that this isn’t a complete before and after. Before the project was completed, the crew also covered the floor with the CleanSpace liner. It’s left out in this picture to show the drainage matting that was also installed. The matting will prevent water from puddling in any one place and will direct water and the moisture issues of the past out of Mike’s crawl space.
