Sealing Your Crawl Space and Supporting Your Floors

High moisture plagued this Paris, ME crawlspace, and concerned about mold growing, the homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. System Design Specialist Sam Crowley met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a system that would encapsulate their crawlspace and protect their home from moisture.     CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed to create an inorganic barrier between the outside elements and keep moisture and critters out. CleanSpace is attached to the rim joist with Spray Foam to ensure a complete seal. SmartJacks were installed to replace rusting and deteriorating supports to keep the floor above stable and remove any bounce that the floors once had. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to keep humidity at safe levels and connected to a Condensate Pump so the homeowner never has to worry about draining a bucket of water. Finally, a Smart Sump Liner was installed so a sump pump can be easily added in the future if the homeowner decides to. Now that the homeowner’s crawlspace is encapsulated, their goal of protecting their home is achieved, and they now have a safe area for storage.

Concrete Leveling in Poland, Maine

We recently helped a Poland, Maine business owner lift and level their sunken concrete slab that had become a tripping hazard inside the store. With a nearly 3" drop the owner wanted to see what could be done to level the floor and keep their shop safe for customers. We used PolyLevel, an environmentally friendly injection that fills the voids underneath the slab to help lift and stabilize the concrete. We were able to lift the slab back to level, removing the tripping hazard.

Leveling Concrete Patio in Old Orchard Beach, Maine

We recently helped a homeowner in Old Orchard Beach, Maine with their cracked and sinking concrete patio. A large crack had developed due to one side of the patio sinking down, and the crack was becoming a tripping hazard. Our crew installed push piers and PolyLevel to help lift the sinking concrete. The push piers work to stabilize the settling concrete by driving steel piers down into bedrock to prevent shifting. PolyLevel is an environmentally friendly foam injection that is then installed underneath of the concrete to fill voids and help provide lift until the concrete is level again.
