A home in Goreville, Illinois, had some exterior cracking foundation walls that needed to be addressed. This is most likely caused by sinking and moving ground soils as they heat and cool over time. To remedy this issue, Woods came in and installed new wall supports to close up those cracks. With the GeoLock Anchor System, heavy duty steel anchors are buried some ways away from the home and connected to the home using steel rods. These rods are then attach to steel wall plates that are placed directly on the wall. As the rods are tightened, they pull the wall back into place. This system can be tightened over time as well, allowing easy maintenance to be done without any more costly installs. With these GeoLocks in place, this home is sure to remain stable for decades to come.
Homeowners Becky and William B. of Harristown, Illinois were having problems with the foundation of their home. They had cracks growing on the foundation walls of their basement and had previously had them sealed up. Now, more cracks are growing after they thought the problem was solved. This time, they decided to give Woods Basement Systems a call.
Here at Woods, we know that sealing up foundation cracks is not going to solve the problem, and instead we need to install a support system, GeoLock. GeoLock is one of our foundation solutions, stabilizing and supporting the home easing up pressure on the foundation. Now the couple is finally happy knowing that their long-time foundation problem is solved.
Bowing concrete-block basement walls present quite a problem. Although bowing is bad for any walls, concrete-block walls are particularly dangerous because individual blocks can fail and allow dirt and moisture to freely pour into the space. With these concerns in mind, this Dix, Illinois homeowner called Woods Basement Systems to address his bowing walls. A Woods team installed several GeoLock anchors in the firm soil 10 feet away from the home to pull the walls outward over time by connecting them with steel plates on the interior surface of the walls.
This homeowner's basement was showing signs of settling, cracking, and leaking. To fix this, GeoLock wall anchors were installed. These are secured in the soil surrounding the basement, keeping the walls upright and sealing cracks over time. This will prevent more leakage or wall failure in the future.
A foundation was still cracking even after being sealed in Johnston City, MO, so GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed. These will permanently stabilize the wall, straightening it to its original position and keeping it in place. The cracks will also be closed so that no water can leak through. This foundation will remain stable and restore peace of mind for years to come!
