Homeowners Sarah and Samuel P. of Cambria, Illinois wanted a solution for their unstable deck support system. Before, the support beams were lopsided, holding the deck up with wooden beams. Now, the steel support beams lift and hold the weight of the deck without worry. Now, Sarah and Samuel can rest east knowing their deck is safe for their family and children.
Homeowners in Sandoval, IL were experiencing wall failure in the basement of their home and reached out to Woods Basement Systems for help. Our team installed the PowerBrace System, which are I-beams that are custom fitted to the basement wall. This joist reinforcement method evenly distributes the load and effectively straightens the wall over time. It is also a great non-invasive option since there is no drilling or digging on the property. The homeowners were happy with their new supported basement wall for years to come!
The foundation and ledge walls of Frank V.’s Mulkeytown, IL basement were bowing inward. Cracks had formed along the cement blocks where bowing was at its worst, which allowed water to get into the basement so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended installing Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors counteract the external soil pressure that damages walls. To do this, galvanized steel anchor rods are driven through the foundation walls and connected to steel earth anchors embedded in stable soil conditions in the yard. Steel wall plates are attached to the rods on the inside of the walls and the anchors are tightened to permanently stabilize the walls in place. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors can also straighten and improve walls over time by tightening them during dry seasons.
Frank V. had cracks in his foundation and ledge walls. Those cracks had let an alarming amount of water to leak in and flood his basement so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods found the best solution for Frank’s water problem would be a basement waterproofing system.
Wood installed CleanSpace over the cracked foundation and ledge walls as part of that waterproofing system. CleanSpace is a thick, durable vapor barrier. It’s prevents moisture from entering the basement through the walls, instead guiding it down to the drainage system below for removal. It also gives the basement a much brighter, cleaner appearance.
Frank V was concerned when he noticed that his basement walls were beginning to bow. So, he decided to call Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Jeremy K was able to come up with a solution to the problem.
Foreman Jeremy R installed a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor and CleanSpace Drainage Matting. The CleanSpace, the white plastic shown above, is a heavy liner that will cover the walls of the basement, and prevent excess moisture from getting in. The Wall Anchor, the bracket also shown above, has two ends one will attach to a stable level of soil away from the house, the other end will attach to the basement walls. The device can be tightened and over time will straighten the walls.
