Customer, Joe of Elkville, Illinois had sagging floors. He already had two floor jacks set up, but they were not doing the job. So he decided to call Woods Basement Systems for help. Systems design specialist Jacob K. was able to find a solution by recommending the installation of six SmartJacks.
Foreman, Joshua B. installed the jacks. SmartJacks are used to lift and stabilize existing beams and floor joists.
Now, Joe K. can enjoy his home without any worries.
Linda and Ralph Z were concerned about the bowing walls in their basement. They decided to give Woods Basement Systems a call, and System Design Specialist Jacob K was able to come up with a solution to the problem.
Foreman Jeremy R installed a Geo-Lock Anchor, shown above, in Linda and Ralph’s basement. One end of the anchor will be attached to a stable level of soil away from the house, and the other will attach to the basement walls. The device will be able to straighten the walls overtime.
This block foundation wall in Carbondale, Illinois was bowing inward from hydrostatic pressure and had developed horizontal cracks. To stabilize the wall and prevent it from bowing further, Woods Basement Systems installed Geo-Lock™ Wall Anchors. The anchors consist of a galvanized, metal rod that runs from the interior to the exterior, an exterior anchor plate that rests in the virgin soil outside, and an interior anchor plate that is tightened to restore the wall's position.
Hydrostatic pressure, the weight of water filling up the exterior soil, was pushing this Carbondale basement wall in and causing it bow. Stair-stepping cracks developed in the wall near a corner, and horizontal cracks ran nearly the full length of the wall. Woods Basement Systems installed Foundation Supportworks Geo-Lock™ Wall Anchors to counteract the hydrostatic pressure and restore the wall.
Before this Carbondale, Illinois project began, mudflow had to be cleaned up. The block foundation had cracked and bowed under hydrostatic pressure, the basement had leaked, and mud was everywhere. To secure the block foundation walls, Woods Basement Systems installed Geo-Lock™ wall anchors. Once the foundation was stabilized, a waterproofing systems was installed around the perimeter. The WaterGuard system rests on the concrete footing around the perimeter just below the slab floor. The WellDuct system catches water that would otherwise build up inside the window well and drains the water to the WaterGuard and away to the sump pump. This homeowner chose a dual sump pump system for double protection against groundwater seepage and a WaterWatch alarm to alert him of primary pump failure.
