External soil pressure can cause damage to walls and cause them to fail. Gary F.’s retaining wall behind his Chesterfield, MO home was bowing inward and cracked. He was worried that it might collapse and he’d not only have to replace the wall but the deck it was supporting so he called Woods Basement Systems. Woods recommended Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors counteract soil pressure by connecting steel wall plates to earth anchors embedded in the yard using galvanized steel anchor rods which stabilizes the wall. Woods also straightened the wall immediately by excavating behind the wall and tightening the anchors. Wall plate covers as shown in the picture can also be included to make wall plates more aesthetically pleasing.
