LRE completed a full inspection of the property and noted severe washout and erosion had caused the foundation to fail and got to work on a remediation program. LRE injected Polylevel, a two-part expanding foam material, into small holes around the pool deck. This material not only filled the voids left by loose, washed-out soils but also expanded to lift the sunken areas of the deck back into place. Next, LRE applied the same PolyLevel material under the stem wall, creating a more sound foundation that would eliminate future damage. After a thorough inspection of the home, LRE was able to determine the main cause of the foundation settlement was due to unstable soils underneath the home. To compact and stabilize the underlying soils, LRE used a two-part deep injection chemical grout. This material expands to compact the underlying soils while strengthening the area as well. LRE also installed helical piers to the side of the home in order to gain lift to the structure, closing some of the cracks in the exterior stucco. Helical piers are advanced deep into the soil and connected to the home's foundation to allow lift to occur. This new system is designed to efficiently collect and redirect heavy rainwater away from the home through an underground drainage pipe leading to a relief drain, effectively preventing flooding in Eric’s garage.
