One of the support beams had begun to crack under the pressure of the house it was supporting. To fix this a new steel girder was installed and SmartJacks where placed underneath to help distribute the pressure on the girder.
When the horizontal wall crack was fixed in this basement, we used stylish covers to make them accessible but also hid them from sight.
Most people are amazed that such a small piece of metal can save their broken basement wall. Well, just one wall anchor can't hold up an entire wall. DryZone has specially trained inspectors that will measure and design a custom system to fix a broken wall. Each plate is designed to grab several blocks on a wall and to support a predetermined load. Therefore, DryZone inspectors know exactly how many wall anchors are needed when designing a basement wall support system.
The foundation on this house had rotted due to the high humidity so the homeowner called the experts here at DryZone to come out and fix it up. To do this we had to install an I-beam supported by the SmartJack system so we could first take out the girder and replace it. We then removed the rotten wood from the outside of the house and replaced it with new boards.
Standing water can cause erosion of dirt underneath a home. When floor supports are in eroded ground, they can start to sink, causing floors above to sag. With Smart Jacks and an encapsulation, your foundation is protected from further water damages.
