In this Burlington, Vermont, home, the basement experienced ongoing water intrusion due to an outdated or failing slab that allowed moisture to enter along the perimeter and through the floor. Without a proper system beneath the surface, water had no controlled path, leading to damp conditions and an unreliable space that couldn’t be fully utilized. Before pouring a new slab, a full interior waterproofing system was installed beneath the floor, including a perimeter drainage system designed to capture water and direct it to a sump pump for discharge. Once the system was in place, a new concrete slab was poured on top, creating a clean, durable surface while keeping the waterproofing system hidden and fully functional beneath. The result is a dry, stable basement with a long-term solution built directly into the foundation.
