Upon the date of the inspection, this is what the crawlspace looked like. You can see on the walls where efflorescence is present. Efflorescence is the salt deposits that are left over once the water has drained out of the area. This helps provide proof that there is a problem that needs to be fixed, before it can cause further damage.

On this stone wall in this basement you can see the deposits from the water entering the basement. If you have never seen puddles of water in the basement, this is a good sign to look for to know if there is a leak into the basement.

Notice in the before photo how moisture led to mold and musty conditions.

This picture is depicting the damage that had already concurred in this crawl space. On the wall you can see the efflorescence left after water has been present, and you can see the mold that is growing as a result of moisture and humidity. This can cause unhealthy air to circulate throughout the home, allow for wood rot, causing structural issues.

In this photo you can see the efflorescence depicted on the walls of the space. Even though, in this picture you cant physically see any water, the efflorescence is the sign that water has been present. It is the salt deposits that are left remaining after water has been in the space. You can also see mold growing on the wood, affecting the air quality throughout the home.

Mold growth and moisture have rotted the wooden supports in the crawl space causing foundation issues and a threat to the homeowner's health.
