CleanSpace is the liner that is pictured on the ground of this crawlspace. It is a durable, antimicrobial liner that is placed in the crawlspace, and allows the water to drain behind it. The EZ-Flow was installed under this, and this allows for easy drainage without anything getting clogged. The CleanSpace provides a barrier between the liner and the crawlspace, keeping moisture and humidity out of the space.
Efflorescence is the white substance on the walls of this crawl space. It is the salt deposits that are left behind once water has been present. This is a good sign to look for if you are trying to determine whether water has been present somewhere in the home.
WaterGuard is installed in a hole that has been dug out from the original concrete in the basement. WaterGuard is used to drain the water to the sump pump. It is surrounded with gravel to act as a filter, ensuring that the WaterGuard will not become clogged with sediment or debris.
Due to the high levels of moisture and humidity that were in this crawl space, mold had began to grow on the wood. This causes unhealthy air flow throughout the whole home, causing health concerns for all who live there.
The CleanSpace Wall System and WaterGuard directly work together to drain the water and moisture out of the basement. The CleanSpace liner is installed onto the wall and the water drains behind it and into the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard that is installed under the original concrete floors, then carries the water to the sump pump to discharge it out and away from the home.
The water damage depicted on the walls shows that water was leaking into this crawl space.
These precision-engineered supports leveraged galvanized steel columns and adjustable top brackets to lift the floors back toward their original position.
This is what the sales rep was looking at upon initial appointment in this customers basement. This is what the unstable foundation looked like, and this is why ultimately the sales rep decided to install SmartJacks to stabilize the foundation.
