Although they may not appear noticeable at first glance, small hairline cracks along the exterior walls of a home can indicate potential foundation settlement issues.
After recently purchasing the home, the homeowner noticed that the back patio had appeared to have settled significantly.
Large cracks formed in the corners of the homeowner's detached garage, indicating potential foundation movement and settlement.
During the inspection, the LRE Design Specialist identified areas in the crawl space where the wooden floor joists were insufficiently supported from below.
The floor joists in the building's crawl space had been noticeably sagging due to a lack of support from beneath them. Many of the original block piers had settled into the soil below, contributing to the structural instability and causing uneven flooring throughout the property.
The homeowner had noticed a slope developing at the rear of their home, and upon further inspection by an LRE Design Specialist, horizontal cracks were also found along the exterior walls.
The homeowner became alarmed when they noticed stair-step cracking patterns emerging from the window frame in the exterior wall of the home.
The LRE team begins the foundation repair process by first excavating soil in preparation for the installation of the helical piers.
